Although some areas will miss them, potentially intense thundery downpours seem likely to affect parts of the warning area from Wednesday late afternoon or early evening onwards into the early hours of Thursday or Thursday morning. Further scattered thunderstorms are then likely to break out from Thursday afternoon onwards into Thursday night. Please be aware of possible disruption to travel and localised flooding as well as frequent lightning.
BE CAREFUL OUT THERE.

16:00 cab back from Mile End to Hornchurch took over 90 minutes. A13 closed, A12 like a bunch of slugs at a go slow festival, TfL Rail/Oblio (or whatever the fuck it is) advising against travel to/from Liverpool Street.
Don't go out, never mind be fucking careful.

Set off at 6am from Rayleigh by car after trains were cancelled.
Got to Stratford at 11am via newbury park.

Grew up with huge power lines across the road from our front lawn (maybe explains some things.) Any time it would get above 25C or so during the day, you could count on a decent light show at dusk and them getting hit by lightning every once in a while.
Great memories sitting on the porch watching the lightning and the Canola (rape seed) field almost glow in the last light.
It did mean tornadoes though. Not as often as where it gets hotter more regularly but often enough that people died in the general area more than once.
One of the weirdest feelings I ever had was when the weather just before the tornado that killed the 27 in Edmonton.

SW London around Morden / Wimbledon is fucked.
The A24 is part blocked due to floods...traffic grid locked in all directions.
